Botanical Gardens

The Dunedin Botanical Gardens offer a vast variety of exotic and native plant collections to help spark the imagination of gardeners everywhere. The Aviary has over 200 bird species spread over four large flights. This aviary also has a co-ordinated captive breeding programme, contributing to the longevity of birds from both New Zealand and abroad.

Baldwin Street

No visit to Dunedin would be complete without at trip to the famous Baldwin Street. With a 35% gradient it is recognized by Guinness as the world's steepest. Have your photo taken at the top and visit the souvenir shop.

University of Otago

Founded in 1869 it is New Zealand's oldest and most prestigious university teaching approx 20,000 students each year. This exciting mix of academic heritage and modern thinking meld together to create an atmosphere not to be missed.

Dunedin Railway Station

A jewel in the country's architectural crown, a picture of the Dunedin Railway Station truly is worth 1000 words. Currently the departure point of the Taieri Gorge Railway train, it also homes the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame and a fine restaurant and bar.

Larnach's Castle & Gardens

Discover New Zealand's only castle with stunning breathtaking views of Otago Harbour and of the castle grounds. Built in 1871 by famous merchant and politician William Larnach, it took over 200 workman 3 years to build the exterior and master European craftsmen 12 years to do the interior. This castle features the finest construction materials from around the world.
